LSA Search Limited is registered as a data controller with the Information Commissioner’s Office. We take our obligations under the Data Protection Act 1998 very seriously. By providing us with information a candidate confirms they have read, understood and accepted this privacy statement.
The Candidate information we collect
We obtain information from candidates from various sources. This can be from the candidate themselves when they provide their CV or in our conversations with them. The information we use will include a candidate’s name, address, date of birth, gender, contact details including email and telephone numbers, employment history, CV, references, job preferences and requirements, salary and package details, education, skills and qualifications, ethnic origin, criminal record, right to work in the UK, personal interests and other information about a candidate to help us place that person in a suitable role. Sensitive personal data might be collected as necessary or where the client requires it, for instance where the role in question justifies obtaining that information.
Like all recruiters and search agencies we will also make use of internet tools and services like LinkedIn and Xing onto which candidates have posted information about themselves.
How we use Candidate information
We use candidate data to provide our recruitment and search services to you and to facilitate our clients’ recruitment processes. Information we collect about candidates is added to our secure database. We will then use that information to assess which candidates may be suitable for particular roles available with our clients. We will pass some candidates’ information to our clients so they can assess suitability as part of their recruitment process. Candidate information may be passed to our clients who are outside the European Economic Area.
By providing us with their information and by instructing us to assist them with searching for suitable roles candidates are consenting to us using their personal information for those purposes, including the transfer of their personal data to those clients who are outside the European Economic Area.
Access to candidate data is restricted to our staff and is kept secure at all times. Our candidate database is encrypted. We will maintain adequate safeguards to ensure the security and integrity of the personal data we hold.
We do not transfer your personal data to any third parties other than clients in the normal course of us providing our recruitment services. However, we reserve the right to transfer candidate data to a third party in the event of a sale of LSA Search Limited or the LSA Search business, a merger or liquidation. You will be notified in the event of such transfer.
Keeping your information accurate and relevant
From time to time we will contact candidates on our database to ensure that the information we hold about them is up to date, relevant and accurate. If you would prefer us to cease holding your personal information and not put you forward for consideration by our clients you may request us to remove you from our database at any time.
Access to your information
You have the right to request a copy of the information we hold about you, for which we may charge you an administration fee of £10. You may also ask us to correct or update some of the information we hold about you.
